Doha Girls Center Organizes Environmental Awareness Event on Earth Day
The Doha Girls Center organized a distinguished environmental awareness event on the occasion of Earth Day. The event was held over two days at the center’s headquarters and targeted different age groups of girls, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and reinforce sustainability concepts.
The event took place on April 22 and 23, 2026. The first day targeted participants aged 15–20, while the second day was dedicated to girls aged 10–14. The event witnessed active participation and positive engagement from attendees.
The event aimed to promote positive environmental behaviors, encourage a sense of responsibility and community participation, and develop participants’ skills in generating practical and applicable environmental solutions.
The program included a range of educational and practical components, most notably the environmental awareness and positive behavior segment, which highlighted the impact of individual actions on the environment and linked daily habits to sustainability concepts. It also included the design of innovative environmental initiatives, where participants presented their ideas and the best proposals were selected.
On the practical side, cleaning campaigns were carried out with documented impact, in addition to planting and greening activities. A total of 30 seedlings were planted, with continued follow-up care to reinforce the concept of tangible environmental impact.
On April 22, 2026, the event for the 15–20 age group was held at the center’s premises from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This event comes as part of the Doha Girls Center’s efforts to empower girls, strengthen their role in environmental protection, and contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development.
